Michael Jaquish is a world traveler, writer, journalist, artist and a philosopher who has spent a very diverse life observing the human condition around the world while pondering life from an intellectual and spiritual perspective. He has degrees in Business Administration and Law Enforcement and is the author of numerous books including; Tales of a Country Cop in Africa, A Monk Without A Monastery, Buddhism for The Awareness Challenged, A Full Quiver, Time Loves a Hero (a SF trilogy), Firearms Safety, Marksmanship and Street Survival and The Role of the Security Officer. Following a career as a peace officer in Washington State, Michael traveled to West Africa in 1989 and spent the next seven years running security and Intel operations for the US State Department, NASA and the United Nations, often in the midst of civil war and political unrest. Upon returning to the United States in 1997 he began writing and providing security management, training and consulting services for various private security companies including Brink’s Armored and Blackwater Security. In 2006 Michael published a comprehensive private security guard training manual and textbook (THE ROLE OF THE SECURITY OFFICER) that continues to be used for training by colleges and security companies in the United States and around the world. During this period Michael also worked as a licensed private investigator in the Seattle and Tacoma WA area. He currently (as of 2019) resides in Spokane, Washington in the United States where he travels, writes, and collects antiquarian books. Michael is also a life-long practitioner of Buddhism and Buddhist philosophy.
