Bellingham, WA
Joan Carson-McGlasson was a wonderful women who loved to enjoy the beautiful Pacific-Northwest summers while reading books on her back porch. Before moving to her last place of residence in Bellingham, WA, she lived in various residences outside of Los Angeles, CA, along with rural Texas earlier in life. Joan had three children of her own, Suzanne McGlasson, Karri McGlasson, and Marc McGlasson, and one grandchild, Ethan Miller-McGlasson. Joan was born in Iowa, and initially attended Missoula University to study piano. Not long into her studies, she transferred to an all-female Junior College to pursue a degree in film production. This led to her riveting career in Hollywood, most recognized for the production of 21 Jump Street. During her career, she became a member of the Director's Guild of America, worked for Warner Brother's Production, 20th Century Fox and other major production companies. Over the years, Joan spent a lot of time traveling all over the world, including places like Italy, England, France, Germany, Spain and other European countries. Although she loved traveling, and especially loved Italy, she decided to stay in the states after she found out about her upcoming grandchild, Ethan. A few years after his birth she retired from production to spend more time with her family. She enjoyed watching her grandson grow up, and loved spending time with him. Joan battled with cancer on more than one occasion, but was able to persevere through three separate diagnoses over the span of 15 years. She spent her final days surrounded by people who loved her, and was able to see her grandson graduate from high school. She passed away 6 days later, June 13, 2018, at the age of 87. Full Summary
