Tom's Bio... after 1 yr at the U of Illinois Tried Retail on State St, Chicago, where I met and married Barbara and had our first, child Rick, accepted a Retail position with my father-in-law in Bloomington, Il... In my 4fh year my father-in-law was appointed to the Mayor's committee to explore merging the two Cities of Bloomington & Normal. Learning of an event by the B-N Jaycees to discuss the B-N Merge I attended... After a fabulous speech by the young Lawyer from the largest Financial Institution in town I volunteered to serve on his committee which turned out to be a speakers bureau. I learned how to speak very well very fast and Accepted a position 3 yrs as Credit Mgr, leading to 4 yrs as Ad & PR Mgr of Bloomington Federal S&L, After the Business Quadrupled in those 4 yrs...($69 to $280 million) I started Hilligoss Assc. Advertising, Won a Statewide Best Newspaper Ad Campaign Award & Spoke at Satewide Newspaper Ad Mgr's meeting... was offered a partnership with former Leo Burnett Exec. James Allen, another Speaker, who created a "VISA" Travel Program for a Bloomington Bank (That's before Jamie Dimon , 1st Nat Bank Chicago put in your pocket as a credit Card). I Developed a Buford the Busey Bear Family Banking Program for Busey Bank of Urbana, IL which is now an $8 Billion independent Bank. Which included a Large coloring and Activity Book which segued into Designing, Publishing & Selling over a million Books for Fundraisers and developing Character Properties Licensed Twinkle the Christmas Elf to Mattel & and Little Golden Books... Which led to Design House, Designing Huggs & Kisses licensed to Mattel, CTI Balloons, Knox Foods etc, Huggs & Kisses brought Stan Lee and Margaret Loesch, President of Marvel productions to My Barrington Hills Home & Studio, I may be re-Introducing Huggs & Kisses again soon. as I have a new "Hook" for them and a large invention company is interested, and I've just learned a major Documentary on Marvel's Margaret Loesch is scheduled for this year by Nacelle for her rolls in X-Men and Batman Animation.

And my Big one, Muffin's World a young Red Head with Pigtales & Freckles that I'm sure inspired Punky Brewster, NBC 84-86 & syndicated in 87-88, However Muffin... Became KINDLES Light up Dolls for CBS IDEAL TOY. With a $3 million launch in 1985... I Sold my 5 acre Horse property & Design House Studio in Barrington Hills in 1988... Bought a 6 acre Estate including a 20 year old Art School with 100 students in a Barn near Wauconda with an elegant cedar and stone cottage, Perfect for hosting Art Shows for the Legend, Richard Schmid & his Proteges from the American Academy of Art & Palete & Chisel in Chicago behind Gates from the McCormick Mansion that I ran for 6 years, & segued into 2 Award Winning Art Galleries, First Designing Building & Creating Studio of Long Grove with the Art school in 1991, that I grew to 300 students by 1994 when I gave it to the Teachers & it's still going in Lake Zurich... When I first bought the School, I was approached by Sheryl Smithson founder of OPA, (Oil Painters of America, representational) requesting my help in Saving & Promoting Representational Art.. Because We started by Hosting the 2nd National OPA (Oil Painters of America) with Governor James Edger & Brenda in attendance for the entire evening in September, 1992 we then hosted OPA's 3rd National in 1993 When I sold one of their 12 Hall of Fame, Signature Members Founder's, Allan Wolton, for $25,000 with Wolton on the phone with the South Barrington Buyer in my LG office, which segued to many shows for Alan Wolton generating $6 million in sales over 20 yrs plus more shows for Hall of Famer's and Regional shows for OPA And Two Major National OPA Shows in Hilligoss Galleries in 2003 & 2005 which established OPA as the Largest American Painter's Organization. And, perhaps jn the World.

Hilligoss Galleries Opened in 2000, on Michigan Ave. Chicago. Unfortunately DeerPark Lifestyle Shopping Center (The most successful in the World) also opened in 2000, 5 minutes from the LG Shopping Village. Causing Studio of Long Grove revenues to drop 60% by 2004. So as President of the CDC, Community Development Corp (like a Chamber of Commerce) Hilligoss put together Long Grove Development LLC with the Son of the Largest Property Owner (60%) who's father was Primarily responsible for Long Groves very successful 35 years preceding this drop, And a LG Rotary Friend with a plan to turn the Village back to a Wedding Town that the current Village President (Mayor) Liked, But an Old Guard Village Wealthy Couple Blaming Studio of Long Grove for monopolizing the gallery business for their lack of success, in their own attempts at galleries. And they considered it a Snub, when I told them how bad business was because of Deer Park and offered to sell them my gallery I had done $20 million by that time... They were apparently insulted. They succeeded in getting their Candidate in office in April 2005. And, both were appointed for one to take over my CDC job and the other to conduct Town Meetings to determine the best Direction for the Village... Totally ignoring our LG Development LLC's Very Professional Power Point Presentation - Prepared by the Head of the most important New York Architectural Firm's Presentation Team that Won the MGM's CITY CENTER Development, the World's Largest... Then went to work for MGM to contribute to the Build-out, Opening, Marketing & After the Opening, Exploring Egypt & other locations in the world ( My Significant-Other's daughter )... For Long Grove, The Step Back in Time, Covered Bridge, Horse & Buggy Historical Courier & Ives Village,

Long Grove spent millions of dollars on improvements to add a Road to a Parking lot and provide two or three new Building Lots, never used because the village was 60% unoccupied and became a Ghost Town by 2012 when Greencourt walked away 90% of the business property owners had given their properties back to their banks...

As the Great Recession dropped Michigan Ave Revenues 70%, also in 2009 and Flatlined through 2011, and finally increasing 10% in 2012, but not enough for the landlord to refuse renewal of the lease on Michigan Avenue in favor of the Chinese restaurant that must be paying the $32,000 per month that i could not afford during the crash but paid easily for the 8 years prior to 2009. The

Fifty percent of the Galleries in the World Shut down in the years between 2008 and 2012, 165 in Chicago. The CyberSmear in Crain's that the Crain's Chicago Business has snowballed to accuse me of Fraud, treating all of my artists over 22 years in a pre-meditated Fradulent way to cheat them every chance I got. The example that was given to me by the person that I believe is responsible for this accusation, when I was selling the most expensive painting I ever sold for him for $24,000. I had the sale done and the buyer asked something about the artist and I broke a rule that had just become so important since I had lost Long Grove and so much money... Just about every artist has a web site or is on Facebook, Instagram or Messenger with some way they can be reached by interested Buyers and kept raising their prices to the point that when the Crash came and the market dropped 70% the buyer is working hard to go direct and find the artist to buy for 30% of the asking price, or even less if they can. So I feel that this might be an exception as i had cosigned his lease to keep him in his apartment, and he had been complaining about no sales. The painting was unframed and I had already had shown that I have the perfect frame so I called the Artist to come over. And we had a party I pulled out a bottle or 2 and the artist may have brought one. but that's a lot of wine to consume in less than an hour I had already written the invoice to be certain the deal was done before the with it'srtist got there. After introductions and pouring a glass of wine l told the artist that he agreed That my Choice for the frame was the right one to complete the painting etc.etc.and he agreed with a thousand words I rang up the deal and we celebrated for quite awhile and shortly afterword the article appeared in Judy's Book. But I didn't know about it for 6 or 7 years until it killed a Movie deal I was doing
