Dr. Steven Lee Berk was born in New York City on March 12, 1949. He resides in Lubbock, Texas, where he is dean and vice president for medical affairs at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He is also a specialist in contagious diseases. He is a graduate of Brandeis University (1971) and the Boston University School of Medicine (1975), both in Massachusetts. Prior to his arrival in Lubbock, he worked as a regional dean at the Texas Tech medical center in Amarillo.
