1999 i was at towing trade show Reno Nevada a starting point for my new business.after the final day i was walking to my room and ended up slipping on the cement floor due to a patron spilling a large margarita. the casino failed to close off the area and i walked right into it. i went down to the floor smashing my head to the cement. unconscious for more than 3 hours not expected to live. severe laceration to the scull. ended up with traumatic brain injury.
the casino Silver Legacy and Circus,Circus filed bankruptcy and years later i ended up with a token amount of money $5,000. then i received a bill from the neuro surgeons office who saw me in the emergency room at the hospital.
he tried to bill me for his services separate from the hospital as a sub contractor
which was why i filed the bankruptcy it was a lot of money over $20,000 for his services. finally as a veteran i was taken to the wrong hospital in Reno Nevada
so the veterans administration came on board to defend me.
and in the end i paid nothing as the VA said they would sue for malpractice and fraud. they new i was a veteran as they removed my wallet when i was unconscious to look for someone to contact. in the end the ambulance company and the hospital and surgeon bills all dismissed by the courts.
but i had already filed the bankruptcy and the courts said could not cancel
