Raymond was born in Moline, Illinois on New Years day in 1932 and raised in Los Angeles, California. While attending school, he worked many part time jobs after school and during summer vacations. He enlisted in the military at age 17 years and served for 30 years from 1949 until 1979, of which, 15 years were spent overseas at various locations in the Pacific, Asia, and the Middle East. The majority of his military assignments involved managing Command and Base level training programs. He also participated in the Christmas Island Atomic testing program (JTF-8) in 1962..Served as Senior Airman Advisor to the Commander of Chanute AFB General Lloyd Leavitt (1975/1976). His last overseas assignment was Saudi Arabia overseeing the Training portion of the 1.5 Billion contract between the Saudi Arabian Government and Northrop Aircraft Industries.. Retired as a Command Chief Master Sergeant (E9). During his service career, he was awarded two (2) Meritorious Service Medals, six (6) Air Force Commendation Medals, and six (6) Outstanding Unit Awards. Upon retirement from the military, he worked for Northrop Grumman Aircraft Industries for 16 years. Three years developing Aircraft support training programs for foreign countries and thirteen years as Manager of Administrative Operations for Advanced Projects Engineering within the Stealth Bomber (B2) Division. He also functioned as Manager of Business Development Planning and Control for Advanced Projects during this period. Was awarded the US Savings Bond Program Outstanding Achievement Award in 1985. Served as Vice President and President of the Management Club during 1989 and 1990. Retired from Northrop Grumman Aircraft Industries in 1995.
