M Nichole Hanson had a career as an Independent Epic Consultant. She traveled across the US, working in numerous hospitals; including the prestigious John Hopkins, MD Anderson and Cedars Sinai. Living in Austin’s In Nov 2017, Nikki (nickname) was diagnosed with breast cancer. By December it was found she had stage IV metastatic breast cancer which had spread to the lymph nodes and spine. She underwent 6 months of grueling chemotherapy, had a double mastectomy with expanders put in for future reconstruction, a complete hysterectomy and numerous hospitalizations with serious infections. One occurrence involved a13 day stay of which 4 were spent in ICU and underwent partial hydronitis surgery in both her inner thighs. Due to the severity of her condition and financial hardship, in Oct 2018 she relocated to her home state of MS to live with her oldest sister. She began treatment in New Orleans at Ochsner’s and had breast reconstruction surgery in April 2019. In September 2019, her oncologist stated she should begin her “bucket list”. A firm believer in Jesus, she knew He was going to heal her of the spine cancer. There was no cure and chemotherapy had failed to even shrink the 4 tumors in her spine. The beginning of Dec 2019 she received a call from her onc station no her request for new MRI and bone scans. She had these procedures every 3 months and it was that time once again. However her onc explained that she wanted the tests immediately because she was cautiously optimistic about her last scans and wanted confirmation of what the last scans revealed. She gently warned her not to get her hopes up but she potentially could be getting some good news. She had the scans 2 days after this call and goes back the following Monday to see her oncologist. As her Dr enters the room, the top senior oncologist joins her. Together they give her the unbelievable, inexplainable news...”your last 2 scans have shown no trace of cancer in your spine or anywhere and we’ve had numerous radiologist and oncologist review your images and we all have concluded you are officially in remission and currently cancer free!” Being scientific minded they could find no explanation for this phenomenon. For over the previous 7 months Nichole had been unable to take her oral chemo nor the hormone blocker she was given to help any further tumor growth or spread. So, 7 months she is taking no preventive medication whatsoever, just a mere 4 months ago she was solemnly told to begin her “bucket list” and now she sits in her 2nd home per se (hospital appointments were weekly for the past 3 years and 1 month) cancer free, out from under the death sentence she had been under everyday for the last 1,126 days. Overwhelmed with emotions, she gave God the glory and staying Ed Jesus had revealed to her He would heal her but she didn’t know when. Nichole has severe disc damage from the tumors that destroyed the vertebral bodies they remained in for almost 3 years. She has degenerative disc disease, diabetes and currently undergoing tests for another disease possible MS. She is blessed with 2 adult children and 5 grandchildren, 4 girls and one boy. She struggles with chronic back pain and severe arthritis in her shoulders, hands, hips, knees and feet.Yet she remains hopeful for the future. Cancer took everything from her that she had worked tirelessly to rebuild after her husband of 20 yrs unexpectedly and abruptly left the marriage. She is only receiving SSI benefits and can not financially survive independently. God has a plan and it will be a beautiful one better than she could imagine. Her life is filled with tragedy and loss. At 22 she was widowed after her husband and 2 yr old son were killin a horrific head on collision. She lost her father at 15. The day her mom was to move in with her, she was found deceased in her bed due to respiratory failure(COPD). In 2007 she lost an aunt she was very close to from a rare genetic disorder in which all her white brain matter simply vanished within a months time. Her cousin, herself, an aunt and both her sisters all had cancer. Her 2 sisters were cancer free over 10 years, her aunt was in remission as of late 2016. Nichole and her cousin were both battling cancer at the same time. Her cousin was diagnosed 2016 with stage 4 colon cancer and sadly passed away 2019. Her brother was in a Vespa wreck which resulted in his spine nearly severed and a traumatic frontal lobe brain injury (affecting short term memory and proper social response). Her family now consists of only 2 sisters, A brother, on aunt and one uncle. She holds her remaining family close to her heart. She’s unsure of what the future shall bring but says “With God All things are Possible!” Full Summary
