Roseville, MI
Louis Carducci's birthday is 03/31/1961. It was a Good Friday. Lou is good-natured right from birth. Lou is also very well-travelled. Previous cities lived, in order: Roseville MI, San Diego CA, La Mesa CA, Lemon Grove CA, St. Clair Shores MI, Rockford IL, Chicago IL and now Roseville MI (back home). Lou started as a Drafter from high school using triangles, paper, and pencil. He attended Macomb Community College taking Tool, Fixture and Die Design courses. Lou achieved his Vocational Technical Certificate only. Not taking any general education courses would later haunt him. In June 1984, Lou moved to San Diego with his parents. His Mother, Margaret Anne Carducci, inherited a house there! In 1986 Lou was advised to go back to school to bolster his career. He took that advice. Unfortunately, none of his previous courses transferred. He had to start all over to pursue an associate degree. Lou did this by taking one to three classes a semester. Many semesters included taking an upper Math course along with required studies. Lou struggled in Calculus for several semesters. Despite being adept at applying Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Lou could not get a grasp of Calculus. He often quit the course before a poor grade would permanently and negatively impact his 3.8 GPA. Lou Carducci eventually accomplished his associate degree in Drafting Technology, with High Honors, in 1991. His parents and wife were quite proud, as was Lou. After 5 years of night classes, he finally got his 2-year degree. Whew! Lou continued struggling in Calculus I and II but took other courses which eventually gained him an associate degree in Liberal Arts in 1996. After this he gave up a pursuit in an Engineering degree. Midway in his career, Lou was given AutoCAD tutoring on the job by a cute surfer girl, Debbie Olea. His career improved thanks to her! Lou developed many other computer skills from there. His extensive career caused him to travel to many places; Hunan, China for a month to build a 330-ton dump truck! During the mid-1980’s through 1990’s, Lou Carducci worked as a Defense Contractor. Lou visited many Navy Shore Stations and boarded many classes of Navy ships docked abroad (Sasebo, Japan) and domestically (Honolulu HI, Norfolk VA, Jacksonville FL, Seattle WA, Corpus Cristi TX, and Long Beach CA). Lou Carducci is enormously proud of this service to his country! His patriotism soared. Lou Carducci gained a bit of fame within the SHIPALT industry and with SPAWAR Engineers (the clients) before returning to Detroit. Lou’s defense contractor responsibility was to create AutoCAD/Excel drawing packages involved; Building or Ship Deck Compartment Layouts, Plan and Elevation Views, enlarged Detail Views, and definition of mechanical parts involved. As a part of a System Installation Team, Lou’s hand-drawn field sketches were used for creating his applicable AutoCAD drawings. As a team member, he gladly performed other tasks; cable pulling, assembly, touch-up painting, and clean up. Lou Carducci is versatile in many ways, both professionally and personally. In his spare time Louie Louie Carducci writes jokes and poetry when inspiration strikes. He has written poetry for his mom and ex-wife over the years. See his Facebook profile for his original jokes. Some examples: “Why did the Invisible Man decide to go on a diet? He wanted to disappear into thin air!” and “What does the Hunchback of Notre Dame do after flossing and brushing? He gargoyles!” Lou was married to Susan Coral (no longer Carducci), a top Travel Agent, for 16 years. Suzie Carducci enriched Lou’s life immensely. She took him to many, many places; La Paz Mexico for the Total Solar Eclipse in 1991! A Tour of Italy (magnifico!), Machu Pichu Peru (amazing!), Chechen Icha Mexico (wonderful!), Egypt Africa, all over the Caribbean, three cruises, and finally all the major Hawaiian Islands - five times each! The Big Island of Hawaii is Luau Lou’s favorite of them all; Kona Coffee, following the Chain of Craters Road, walking on dried lava beds searching for ancient petroglyphs, helicopter rides around the rim of the active volcano, Mauna Kea Observatory, the magnificent waterfalls, the Hibiscus, and other lush greenery … and more! Swimming with endangered Green Sea Turtles is always a highlight of each trip there. As you can see, Lou Carducci has been, as Sting used to sing – “A Man in a Suitcase” for much of his life..
