Jamie L. Luke was born in Frankfurt W. Germany in 1957. His father witnessed the bombing of Pearl Harbor which prompted him to drop out of high school and enlist in the U.S. Army. Serving in Europe toward the end of WWII, he met Jamie's mother in Germany. 10 or so years later she gave birth to their second son, Jamie L. Luke. Being a military brat for the majority of his youth Jamie was no stranger to travel having been uprooted and relocated every three years due to his fathers military orders. As a result Jamie grew up and attended schools in West Germany, Hawaii, Washington and Virginia. Once his father retired (1968-69) the family returned to their true home ... Hawaii, where Jamie completed high school. In college he studied architecture while a cadet in the University of Hawaii ROTC program. On one hand he wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps and serve his country. On the other he had too many interests that proved more distractive than constructive and as a result Jamie decided to end his military career shortly after his return from training in Fort Knox, Ky. A decision that still replays itself in the back of his mind to this day. Having come to be known as a "Jack of all Trades and Master of None" he soon realized he needed to focus on a goal and pursue it. That mindset and a few unexpected opportunities that presented themselves ushered Jamie into design and construction where he excelled. Jamie has since performed at various capacities within the construction industry (Designer/Estimator, Project Engineer, Superintendent, QA/QC, Project Manager, Third Party Inspector and also served as a consultant and expert witness). All of which had Jamie traveling again on a regular basis. However now having 2 kids of his own, all the travel and flying home once a month for just a short weekend got very old very fast. Currently Jamie is with the U.S. Navy's NAVSEA CCAT Program and leads CCAT Team 8 located at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Traveling is still associated with his duties however its limited to only a few times a year. At this very moment his outlook on life is ... it couldn't be better.
