Howard Grey Spillers (November 5, 1928 - October 13, 2020) was born in Union Parish in north Louisiana. He was a son of Howard Lofton and Mary Jane Bagwell Spillers; he outlived three of his younger brothers, Harold Spillers (1930-2012), Elbert Hicks Spillers, Sr. (1932-1994), and Jefferson Hale Spillers, Sr. (1943-1980). He spent most of his life in Minden in Webster Parish, where he owned Spillers Appliances and Furniture and where he died just a few weeks short of his 92nd birthday. He was a Caucasian, a United Methodist, and a Republican. He and his wife, the former Verba E. Hemphill, known as Vel Spillers (1930-2013), had two children, Mike Spillers and Marcia Spillers Lee. His associates included Wilburn Lowe, William Dick, Benjamin Cade, Lisa Flandersdick, and Bobby Griffith. He is interred beside his wife at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden. Full Summary
