I was born in Burbank, California in 1968 and was born and raised there. I was adopted at six months of age to a amazing family who blessed me beyond measure. My Dad was a former semi-pro baseball player and was the physical director at the Burbank YMCA and I was involved in lots of sports activities. I played baseball, tackle football, ice hockey and even basketball, which I sucked at due to being so short. I also loved music and started drumming at age ten being taught by ex quiet riot drummer, Drew Forsyth. I went to Horace Mann, Elementary School, Jefferson Elementary School, John Muir Jr High School, Luther Burbank Jr High School and lastly Burbank High, which I graduated in 1987. During my high school years I played the snare drum in marching band and drums in the jazz band and soon a heavy metal band Rampage was formed with Sin Quirin, current lead guitarist for Ministry, Jim Santa Cruz on bass guitar, Michael Aldridge on lead vocals and myself on drums. I was playing AA Ice Hockey for the California Golden Bears as a goalie and we won back to back state championships in 1986 and 1987. We traveled a lot to play other teams including teams from Manitoba, Canada and Montreal. During a Ice Hockey Tournament in Santa Barbra, California I had shut out teams three games in a row and caught the eye of college scouts from both Bowling Green, Ohio and Michigan State. Other teams coaches demanded to see rosters of games showing myself and four other players on the roster during the regular season. Basically we were being accused of being ringers, which we weren't and won the tournament decisively. During this time our metal band, really started coming together, we wrote original songs and found an amazing singer and soon I would make a decision that I look back on with regret. We started out playing free for local parties and got a great local following in Burbank. Soon we were playing clubs in Los Angeles like The Troubador, Gazzari's and the legendary Whisky a go go. I put all my eggs into the basket of being a famous rock drummer. I took drum lessons at the late Ozzy Osbournes guitarist Randy Rhoads mom's music school called Musonia in Van Nuy's, California and Mrs Rhoads aka Dee warned me one day while at her house in Burbank about not counting on the rock star dream and she stressed the importance of an education. We had a great local following at the time and did a demo and got some label interest. Their concern was we were to young at the time and this was very frustrating. But the debauchery and decadence of those days on the Sunset Strip, when Metal Ruled the world was pure insanity. I am still amazed I lived through it. Then in 1989 came grunge and sunk heavy metal. This would lead to me growing up and enlisting in the United States Army from November of 1989 to January 23rd, 2005. I was severely wounded on Mar 15th, 2004 during task force lancer as a member of C 2-5th Cav, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cav Division. Full Summary
