I have been married for 45 years to Joel McElrath. We met when we were both employed at Mobil Oil. He worked in Data Processing management which caused us to move to many cities: Denver Colorado, London England, Houston Texas, back to Dallas, and Midland.
While in Denver, I gave birth to a boy and a girl. While in Midland, I attended Midland College, studying toward an associate degree in data processing. During all our moves, we were members of twenty churches. Our daughter, Lori, graduated from Wayland Baptist University where she studied math and education and where she met her future husband. They have a daughter and two sons and live in Plainview where she teaches math at the local high school. Her husband is the Dean of Math and Science at Wayland, Their children are all math nerds in addition to being gifted musicians and devoted Christians.. Our son attended Texas Tech where he received an MBA in MIS (Management Information Systems). He is employed at UT Southwestern Medical School as an administrator in the data processing department. He and his wife, Nicole, live in Hurst (near Ft. Worth). They have two children--a boy and a girl. Before moving to Plainview,
we lived in Granbury, close enough to watch those grandkids grow into adolescence. Those little children brought back so many memories of our own children's early years. Nicole enjoys the privilege of home schooling their children.

We moved to Plainview to be near our older grandchildren before the leave the nest. We knew it would be hard to move away from our son and his family, but we did not realize we would not have Home Depot or What-A-Burger, but we do have a giant Wal-Mart that draws customers from metropolises like Hale Center, Abernathy, and Tulia, as well as some cities in eastern New Mexico.
