Georgia sits in the southeastern region of the US. It's the eighth-most populous state in the country. As of 2020, it has 10.7 million people, 57 percent of whom reside in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Georgia is the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr. and the origin of the Civil Rights Movement.
