Colorado is located in the Mountain West subregion of the United States. Native Americans have inhabited the area for 13,000 years. Today, it has over 5.7 million people within its borders, with Denver being its most populated city. Colorado ranks high in the country's standard of living index. Most of its economy is centered on mining, tourism, government and defense, agriculture, and a wide variety of manufacturing industries.
