About My Personal Life I am a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard and one of 13 Department of the Army selected Officers serving as a Brookings Institute Congressional Fellow on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. While in this position, I had the opportunity to choose to serve as a staff member for a member of Congress, a Senator, or on a Full Committee. This year, I choose to work for Senator Grassely, a Senator from Iowa, and am working on his International Narcotics Control Caucus committee that addresses drug-funding issues, reviews affected legislation, and has oversight responsibilities for more than $18 billion in appropriated funding for fiscal year 2000.
