Retiring Retired from City of Dallas in 2004.

Other After retiring from the City of Dallas, my husband and I began going to Evans Senior Center in Mesquite. In 2007, he became more disabled and I had to put him in a nursing home. There happened to be a part time job opening at the Evans Senior Center. I applied, and got the job -- supposed to be 10 hours a week. I do not think I have ever worked only 10 hours. Nor did I ever work at Evans, but at Rutherford Senior Center which is within walking distance of my home. I always seem to work at least 18 hours a week. At my part time job, I do things with and for senior citizens. Sometimes I plan trips for the group; sometimes I cook for them; sometimes I play games with them (Wii bowling is a favorite!) sometimes I help them with their ceramics, and I do a little office work. I have no idea when I will quit this job and retire again.

About My Work Life Moved to Dallas in 1974, worked for Republic National Bank for 3 years, then at Lionel D. Edie and Company for 9 months, and finally at the City of Dallas for 26 years, retiring from there in 2004.
